Why You, Why Now
Tell us what you’re building, and why it matters now.
We don’t need perfection. We look for insight, urgency, and obsession. What problem are you solving? Why are you the one to solve it? And why is this the moment to act?
We back founders at the very start—before traction, before consensus. So help us see what you see. If it’s real, we’ll lean in fast.
“It’s better to make a few people love you than many people like you.”
— Paul Graham
What to Prepare
We don’t expect polish. But we do value clarity and thoughtfulness. If you’re reaching out, here’s what helps us engage meaningfully:
A short, honest note
Tell us who you are, what you're building, and why it matters—no jargon, no hype.
A deck or memo (optional, but helpful)
We don’t need a pitch competition slide—just something that shows how you think. Even a one-pager works if it’s sharp.
The why now
Why this market, this timing, and why you’re the one to do it. If it’s early, that's even better—but help us see what you see.
The hard part
We love founders who don’t dodge the difficult questions. What’s the riskiest assumption? What are you still figuring out? That’s where real conversations start.
Your ask
Be direct. Are you raising now? Looking for feedback? Connections? We move faster when we know how to help.
What to expect
If your email or deck catches our attention, here’s what typically happens next:
A real reply, fast
We don’t leave good founders hanging. If it clicks, we’ll respond within a few days, no intern filters, no form replies.
A focused call
You’ll speak directly with someone who makes decisions. No pre-screening. We’ll ask questions that get to the core of your idea, not your polish.
A deep dive
If there’s mutual interest, we’ll move into strategy sessions—breaking down your vision, exploring market entry, and stress-testing the hard parts with you, founder to founder.
Help, before a term sheet
Even if we’re not ready to invest yet, we’ll often share insight, make intros, or workshop key problems. That’s how we build conviction—on both sides.
If it’s a yes, it’s a conviction yes
No handshakes from committees. No half-belief. If we back you, we show up fully.
“Brilliant thinking is rare, but courage is in even shorter supply than genius.”
—Peter Thiel
